Before you start, it is important to understand some of the security methods built into shareAcar. Your details are held securely and will not be released to other users. The only information which can be seen by other users is your username. If you decide to contact another user through shareAcar who is able to match your journey, your journey details will then be passed on. You will see this and approve it before it is sent. Your username is key to the operation of shareAcar and can be any word or name between 3 and 15 characters in length. You do not need to use your own name if you want to maintain some anonymity. The username must be something you remember as it will be needed each time you log in along with your password.
You need to register with shareAcar to start using the service. Registration costs £5 and is payable annually in advance via a secure credit card transaction. Your subscription will be automatically renewed each year unless you cancel your subscription, this can be done through the cancel subscription link in the members area. To start using shareAcar, click here to register. Once you have completed the details, you will be transferred to a secure page to enter your credit card details. Once this is approved, you will return to the shareAcar site where your registration is completed.
